To legally hire a domestic helper or cleaning worker in Belgium, clients need to use the titre-service system provided by Sodexo. This is not just a payment system but also an effective way to ensure that workers are protected with all the benefits as per the law.

How much does it cost, and what about the tax deduction?

Here, we have some crucial information for you:

1. Cost: Each titre-service, equivalent to an hour of work, costs 10 euros.
2. Tax Deduction: For each titre-service purchased, there's a reduction of 1.50 euros. Take note! This reduction is only applicable to the first 163 titre-services. Meaning, up to the 163rd titre-service, you benefit from this tax reduction, making each titre-service cost you less post the deduction.
3. Price Variation: Once you surpass the 163 titre-services purchased, there are no more tax deductions. Hence, from the 164th to the 300th titre-service, you will pay the base price of 10 euros. But from the 301st onward, the price increases to 12 euros each.
4. Annual Cap: There is a maximum limit. An individual can only purchase up to 500 titre-services per year.
